How do I upload my game?

First, create an account on the site.

Next, vist your profile page (or just click on community while you are logged in). You'll see a menu item on the left side labelled Submit Game. Click that and follow the directions.

How are game developers paid?

We are currently offering 50¢ per 1,000 loads of your game.

We are exploring other revenue sharing models going forward, however this was the simplest to implement at first and is in line with the model used by several popular Flash game sites.

We prefer to use PayPal. After you accrue at least $25, we'll transfer the funds to your PayPal account. We'll make up to one transfer per month.

If you live in a location that PayPal does not support, contact us and we'll make alternative arrangements.

Very soon, developers will have a dashboard where they can track how much they have accrued.

Can I host my game on other sites?

Yes, we do not require any exclusivity and you maintain the intellectual property.

How big can my game be?

We're trying to keep the restrictions loose.

Right now, our layout cannot handle games wider than 750px. We plan to support up to 960px eventually.

That being said, we recommend a maximum game size of 700x550px to reach the largest possible audience. If you make the game height larger than 550px, there is a very good chance that a high percentage of users will not be able to see the entire game surface. Remember that users have toolbars, a title bar, and the start menu that need to be figured in when calculating the vertical space available.

What are your plans for Silver Arcade?

We have a lot of plans actually. Here's a few:

  • Rich api for game developers to integrate with the site.
  • Community features that allow interaction and friendly competition between members.
  • The ability to cross promote your SilverSprite games and hopefully earn some revenue from Xbox Live Community games as well.
